The JOLF Cap is a strong symbol of children’s membership of JOLF.
The cap system is set up for the benefit of children. It gives them a framework of targets to work towards and a tangible indication of their progress. The achievements needed for each colour level are in the journal and children are responsible for keeping their own progress up-to-date. The seven cap colours are white, red, yellow, green, blue, brown and black.
Caps mark a child’s progress. Children move from one cap level to another when they have completed all the achievement targets for one cap level. They can move to the next cap at any time. There are no end of term tests or exams or passes or fails.
